4am start as Waveney Norse staff keep paths and car parks safe

February 2018

The current cold snap has seen Waveney Norse's staff starting work at 4am to apply salt to the roads and car parks of customers for whom they provide a gritting and snow clearance service.

"Our customers for snow and ice clearance include housing associations, leisure centres and local government buildings," explains Waveney Norse's Service Delivery Manager, Shayne Plant.

"We receive detailed weather reports throughout the day and arrange with our staff to start work at 4am to apply salt to surfaces if the weather forecast indicates that snow or ice are likely.  When snow is forecast to fall, our team is out whilst it is still dark, keeping public paths safe for our clients."
